It’s Saturday and the rain Gods have blessed our humble little city with an abundant downpour…lovely big drops of late summer rain, falling relentlessly upon fashion week, outdoor performances and yes, those tireless city bicyclists…I have decided to make the most of a noble purchase – a bag of perfectly ripe, long-stemmed cherries from a local stand – by making a midday dessert to the sound of thunder and the occasional flash of lightening: Cherry Tartelettes.

Here’s to a lovely menagerie of melted butter, crumbled crackers, creamcheese, nature’s only cherry red, and of course, the anticipation of that first bite…followed, naturally, by a sip of hot tea.

Il pleut, alors, Je Mange!
