After a 15 hour journey of air travel sprinkled with aisles of stretching passengers, elevated feet and compression socks, the Royal Danish Ballet arrived in Costa, Mesa, California—the first stop of our 4 city America tour…”The Golden State” greeted us with long-awaited sunlight and ocean breezes, salty fresh air and swaying palm trees… Starbucks and shopping malls, oversized pharmacies and all of the wonderful luxuries you miss living in quaint European cities…
We settled into the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and after spacing & lighting, we hit the stage dancing. We opened with a Mixed Program of Nordic Choreographers, and finished with August Bournonville’s classic Napoli, recently re-staged with a modern twist by Artistic Director, Nikolaj Hübbe.
