Today Tutus&Tea would like to share with you one of her shameless vices. The secret recipe I’m about to let you in on is absolutely addictive in all of the best ways…and I for one, am not going to judge should your jar of happiness come to empty itself at a continually rapid pace :)
Below…feast your eyes on the divinity that is Ginger Nut Butter, and marvel at the simplicity of such beautiful flavors working in tandem. Go Nuts. You’re welcome. {recipe below}
your preferred assortment of mixed nuts – I used a subtle combo of almonds and cashews, but any will do…
1 inch piece of peeled, finely grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon of honey
(optional: pinch of cinnamon)
Rules:
Preheat oven to 275 degrees and roast nuts until slightly golden and fragrant, about 10-12 minutes.
Combine all ingredients into a high-speed blender (*Vitamix works like a charm) and blend until well mixed – About 4-8 minutes depending on the strength of your blender.
Fun fact: As the nuts continue to grind, they will eventually release their own oils, helping the butter-like consistency to form. If for some reason it fails to do so on its own, feel free to add a slow stream of extra virgin olive oil until you reach your desired consistency.
…Slather on to your favorite vehicle of edible transport and the world is yours for the taking :)

That looks sooooo good!
This sounds wonderful an alternative to peanut butter! I see other nut spreads while shopping but none look or sound as appealing as this. Can’t wait to give my hand a try at it. What amount of nuts do you use for this recipe? I could guess but for my first try I could use an idea.
Thanks for your blog. Very enjoyable, like your recipes and the way you present them.
Have a blessed day!
Thank you for your help.
Hi Susan! For this recipe I used about 3 cups of nuts…Hope you enjoy, thanks for following along, Bon Appetite!
Sounds scrumptious! Can’t wait to try it after my attempt to make homemade almond milk today :) nomnomnom
Shelby,
I love your posts with recipes. They all look so scrumptious. I think that this post in particular shows a great snack for post work out. Its so important to refuel after a work out and the protein in the nuts in this nut butter is a wonderful and yummy way to get it. I was wondering if you had any other recipes that give dancers energy when they don’t have time for a full meal?
Thanks for a wonderful post!
Sara
Hi Sara! Thanks for stopping by Tutus & Tea, I’m so happy you enjoyed this post… I might recommend searching my blog archives for other recipes I’ve posted including Quinoa, Oats, and Granola – There are some really great “power snack” options that are great for pre/post performances/work outs.
